Well, what a busy long weekend! After doing a bit of shopping for a new camera bag on Friday morning, Cathy and I met up with her friends Jon and Michael, who had come down to London for a visit. We spent Friday afternoon and evening at Cathy’s place, the three of them catching up, and Jon, Michael and myself getting to know one another.
On Saturday afternoon we went to see Chicago at the Adelphi Theatre, which was pretty good. (To be honest, it took me a while to get into it. I was expecting what I think of as a "normal" musical, where there is a reasonable amount of acting between songs, where Chicago has almost none, really. As a result, I felt that something was missing, and that things weren’t going to really be explained. However, once I realised that this just the way the story was going to be told, I was able to relax and just enjoy the show.) After, we had a great dinner at Med Kitchen, and then hit the clubs in Soho.
Sunday we dropped by the Tate Britain, as Jon and Michael wanted to see the Gothic Nightmares exhibition. Cathy and I had a mooch about, meanwhile, and afterwards we all walked down the Thames to look at the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace.
Finally, on Monday, after Cathy and the boys had done some shopping, I met up with them for a late afternoon spin around the London Eye and dinner. After they left to head back to Cathy’s, I had the chace to do some more photography along the river.
All in all, not a bad weekend
.
However, now that I have a decent bag for my camera, and have had it with me all weekend, I have taken too many photos to be able to show all the half-decent ones in a single blog entry, so it has highlighted the fact that I really need to get a gallery up and running, and soon! I’ll see what I can do in the coming weeks…
